The Shimano Dura-Ace WH-R9370 wheelset series is Shimano’s flagship, top-tier road racing wheel lineup. Unveiled in mid-2026, this generation introduces a massive shift by adopting carbon spokes and wider rim profiles, resulting in weight savings of up to 220g over the previous R9200 generation.
Key Lineup & Models
The R9370 series features four primary configurations designed for specific racing disciplines, all featuring a 23mm internal rim width optimized for 28mm–30mm tubeless tires:
  • WH-R9370-C36 (The Climber): Features a shallow 36mm rim depth. It drops 180g from the previous generation to weigh just 1,170g.
  • WH-R9370-C50 (The All-Rounder): A versatile 50mm mid-depth rim balancing speed and low weight. It weighs 1,302g (a 159g reduction).
  • WH-R9370-C60 (The Sprinter): Features a deeper 60mm profile for maximum aerodynamic efficiency and power transfer. It weighs 1,389g (dropping 220g).
  • WH-R9370-C99 & DISC (TT/Triathlon): Shimano's first official deep-section time-trial setup, combining a 99mm deep front wheel with a full rear disc wheel.
Core Technology Upgrades
  • Carbon Spokes: Shimano's major upgrade for this generation. They use specialized Aero or Super Aero carbon bladed profiles to slash weight while increasing lateral stiffness and power transfer.
  • Modernized Rim Width: The move to a 23mm internal width accommodates modern 28c and 30c race tires. Shimano maintains a user-friendly, secure hooked rim profile rather than hookless.
  • Refined Cup-and-Cone Hubs: Sticking to their tradition, Shimano uses loose ball bearings instead of cartridge bearings. This design provides up to 30% lower rotational torque and incorporates updated, easily replaceable bearings and improved waterproof seals.
  • Tubeless-Only: The R9370 line completely phases out tubular configurations, focusing exclusively on high-performance tubeless-ready setups.
